The continent of Australia is the smallest continent in comparison, but it is considered the largest country in the world. Australia is located in the Southern hemisphere, specifically between the Pacific ocean and the Indian ocean. The total area of Australia is 3,300,000 square miles with 39 million in population. There are only three countries on this continent including Australia, Papua New Guinea, and portions of Indonesia. Sometimes, for no mistake, it was called Oceania, and Sahul.

Despite the small size of Oceania, its economy is one of the largest and most developed regions in the world so far. Australia’s GDP per capita is much higher than some big countries such as France, United Kingdom, German, and Canada.

The national currencies in these regions obviously are the Australian Dollar, the US dollar, and the New Zealand dollar. They were used by independent and small territories in this region. Australia has one of the safest and most secure currencies in the world and has experienced relatively low levels of counterfeiting for many years. To ensure that this continues to be the case, the Reserve Bank researches anti-counterfeit technologies and developments in banknote design.
